Nate and Empty Seats
The young man Nate looks up towards the viewer. His direct stance casts a long shadow to the left. The identical, repeating shadows of the seats reinforce the visual impact of their emptiness. The figure appears large in proportion to the vacant rows of seats. Public space takes on a new conceptual and aesthetic context in the absence of people.
