Title
1st Sketch Peaceable Plantation
Subject
Two children sitting next to each other.
Description
The subject is two small children sitting next to each other. On the viewer's left is a young, African American girl. She has short, dark hair falling into her eyes, is wearing a long, sleeveless and undecorated dress, and is barefoot. She is holding a flower in each hand and appears to be chewing on the stem of the flower in her left hand. Sitting to her right is a little boy with short, light hair. He is wearing a t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, and has his hands clasped together with his elbows on his knees. The two are sitting close, but looking away from each other with slightly worried expressions.
