Description
The subject of this drawing is an older gentleman wrestling with an angel in the middle of a country road. The old man, named Brother Hinsley, has one arm around the neck of the angel and another on their head, in a dramatic pose, while his wrinkled face stares at the viewer. The angel's face is hidden, bent towards Hinsley, and she is wearing a long, flowing gown, with two large wings outstretched behind her back. Wooden posts line the road on which they are wrestling. The road leads back to a small, wooden house at the horizon line.
