Description
The subject of this lithograph is a small country store, modeled off of the plantation store Cloar visited as a boy . The sign hanging from the porch reads, "O E Roberts Groceries Gas Drinks." Two men are sitting on the porch in front of the doors, reclining in rocking chairs. On the viewer's right, the back of a vehicle can be seen next to the store. On the viewer's left, two gas pumps are set up in front of a telephone pole with a sign reading "Gas 15." Behind the telephone pole is another sign advertising "Royal Crown" and "Cola", with a man in a button down shirt, hat, and suit case walking past it towards the store.
