I really enjoy images that allow the viewer to see different depths of an object. Such is the case with this poster titled, Homage to the Square: MMA-2, a donation to the Art Museum's collection from William S. Huff. The poster immediately draws my eyes to the center square with the brightest hue of red. Allowing the brightest, smallest red square to be the focal point challenges my eyes to see the other squares from a vantage point of depth and height. The center square is either a view from the bottom of a pillar looking up, or a view from the top of a pillar looking down. Likewise, the view from the center square reminds me of either the ascension or descension of a staircase. I think the poster is very engaging and uses the different shades of red to make a bold statement in the most simplistic fashion.
